While Taiwan leverages its semiconductor dominance to position itself as a supply chain hub, the forum showcased global advancements: Qudora's maturation of trapped-ion systems using NFQC, Classiq's move toward automated functional synthesis, and Taiwan AI Cloud's formalization of HPC+QC hybrid architectures. With industry roadmaps targeting 200-qubit systems by 2027, practical applications in quantum chemistry and fluid dynamics are entering the testing phase.

It's an interesting contradiction: I'm a scientist, an experimental physicist, yet I don't "live like a scientist." I don't apply the scientific method—digging for the root cause and solving issues—to my daily life or personal problems. As a scientist, I should be optimizing my life to improve productivity and quality of life. The primary issues I need to address are my physical and mental health.

In a world where information is abundant yet scattered, curating and managing knowledge efficiently has become an essential skill. As a researcher constantly navigating through stacks of academic papers, technical documentation, and fleeting ideas, I've explored numerous solutions designed to streamline reference management and information collection.

In today’s fast-paced world, ideas often strike at the most unexpected moments—during a morning walk, a casual chat, or when browsing an article. Capturing and refining these ideas requires a systematic workflow to turn scattered inspiration into meaningful outputs, or at least I can have a meaningful structure for the future usage. In this article, I want to share my personal knowledge workflow—a simple but effective process that helps me stay organized, refine my thoughts, and share valuable insights.

The Quantum Technology Development and the Future

Quantum technology is increasingly becoming a pivotal area of research and investment, particularly as its potential for groundbreaking advancements in computing and other sectors becomes clear. Over the past few years, quantum technology has shifted from being a purely academic pursuit to a growing industry that could fundamentally change how we approach complex problems in science, medicine, finance, and more.

As of 2024, Taiwan has demonstrated a strong presence in the semiconductor industry, which serves as a solid foundation for advancements in quantum technology. Taiwan's role in manufacturing and R&D within the semiconductor ecosystem uniquely positions it to explore quantum technologies, potentially setting the stage for its next major technological leap. This shift is especially relevant as global markets and governments alike continue to invest heavily in quantum innovation, seeing its potential to redefine industries across the board.

Inspiration

Launching a startup from an academic foundation into the commercial world requires more than just innovative technology; it demands a deep understanding of how to translate research into marketable solutions. The gap between research and commercialization is vast, requiring not only technical expertise but also strategic vision and strong leadership. Moreover, the composition of an R&D team is markedly different from that of a commercial venture. The goals, dynamics, and expectations shift dramatically when moving from a research environment to a business setting. This underscores the importance of understanding group formation and dynamics as a crucial element in the success of any startup.

It is great to inspire our minds beyond the field we are mainly focused on, especially for researchers. Most of us may do a deep dive into a field that only uses several old tools that were developed 20–30 years ago. Therefore, I attended one talk in a series of workshops at Academia Sinica, talking about the idea. “Propensity score” is a revised method for swapping the possible bias from the designed experiment with the real world. The content is mainly based on the talk from the speaker, Dr. Jing-Rong Jhuang, Institute of Statistical Science.

If you work from multiple locations or need to keep your system synchronized between your work and home environments, managing file synchronization can be a challenge. This is especially true when using different operating systems like Windows, iOS, or Linux. In this article, I'll share my current setup and thought process for effective file synchronization. My primary goal is to create a user-friendly and easily maintainable system that I can rely on for years to come.

Note: While optimizing your setup can significantly speed up your workflow, it's important not to spend excessive time on it. The focus should always remain on your core tasks.

Its seems like a lot of time we are spending on writing notes. When we studied in the school, learning new skills, or even just randomly taking notes with new ideas when walking on the street. However, when we grow up or even just one year later, all of the notes are just disappear because we no longer remember what we are right now. Therefore, it is a good way to record what we learnt with a good system. Obsidian, is really a free software to record the note and link the notes together.
